(Added 11/11/2007) - Another milestone in the path of producing music. For me, every finished song is a step forward and a step I didn't expect to take. This song returns to the "happy mood" theme I've found natural to achieve. I looked to make more strides forward in the area of music production including guitar tones, mixing and the related. I don't feel this one has move forward a measurable amount, but that just means I've reached the limits of my current skill. Looks like I need to do some more research in this area. All that aside, the song is an upbeat, straight-up, jam-out fun instrumental that is just the type I like listening to.

(Added 4/15/2007) - This song was a long time in the making. From the positive feedback of prior works, I decided to upgrade my production equipment. This song was the test bed from which to learn new and better recording technique as well as learn the new tools I have available. As a result, all aspects of the production were given extra scrutiny. As a song writing exercise, I desired to start with a reserved beginning and achieve a build-up to a climactic ending and create some elements of drama along the way. For me, the largest successes with the song is the leap forward in sound production and quality.

(Added 6/7/2006) - I sat down to write something completely different, but during my brainstorming sessions, I stumbled on a little guitar line that caught my ear. I tried to put it aside, but it kept returning so I decided to follow through with it and let it run its course so that I could move on. The song evolved quickly and I had it written and recorded during spare hours over the span of three weeks or so. Although this song is an example of the sound that is becoming typical for me, I am pleased with the outcome none the less. The song gives me feelings of optimism and of bright futures. Premonition perhaps? We'll see.

(Added 12/16/2005) - I stepped outside my norm for this song. I took a minimalist approach and gave emphasis to the bass. I experimented with different sounds and tonalities and am please with the "bassy" sound. I left every chip where it fell and recorded every first idea that came to me with no second guessing. The overriding themes I set for myself going in was to make it groovy and keep it simple, simple, simple. As a result, I wrote and recorded this song in less then twenty hours over the course of one week.

(Added 11/16/2005) - This is my second writing effort. It followed the recipe of my prior effort, Positive Influence. It "grew" from an initial guitar groove and, bit-by-bit, came together. There is a number of aspects of the song I'm very proud of and, with some refinements and "proper" production, it has the potential of being a cool tune.
This song eventually went on to become my more critically acclaimed of my songs featured on GarageBand.com and maintains a ranking within the top 2% of its genera.

(Added Oct 22, 2005) - This song is my second recording effort using my new ZOOM digital recorder and my very first song writing effort. All things aside, this is a significant milestone for me. It is clearly an 80's sounding tune demonstrating many of the classic 80's clichés. I titled the tune as a node to the many influences found in this tune including Joe Satriani, Judas Priest, Tesla, Stuart Hamm and many others.

(Added Oct 3, 2005) - This is the first recording made after receiving my digital recorder. It started out as handful of bass licks that evolved as I learned more features of the recorder. This tune is more an instrument feature then a proper song. It features a lot of slap bass with some catchy funk sections weaved in. The most noteworthy feature of this song is a cameo appearance from my 7 year old daughter on the keys.
